The Pet Shop Boys' studio albums* in descending order of how much I love them

Yes, I love them all. But I love some more than others. And the one I love most of all is listed first.

  1. Very**
  2. Behaviour
  3. Bilingual
  4. Fundamental
  5. Introspective
  6. Actually
  7. Yes
  8. Please
  9. Super
  10. Release
  11. Electric
  12. Elysium
  13. Nightlife

Please note that I'm not yet ready to include the Pet Shop Boys' 2020 album Hotspot in this list. I need a little more time before I'll be able to decide where it fits in this ranking.

*I've always considered "greatest hits" and "best of" collections to be cop-outs in "best album" lists. So I've disqualified Discography, PopArt, and any other anthology, including the b-sides collections Alternative and Format—neither of which would have appeared at the bottom of this list had they "qualified."

**Very isn't merely my favorite Pet Shop Boys album; it's one of my five favorite pop/rock albums of all time. As far as I'm concerned, it ranks right up there with such widely acknowledged greats as Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, Pet Sounds, and The Dark Side of the Moon. But I'm the only writer I'm aware of who has made such an assertion on its behalf.
